Interior Architecture
Commendation Award: North
Fork Bank, Williamsburg,
N.Y.
The project is located in
a part of Williamsburg alive with a burgeoning
population of artists and youth. Our client wanted to be a part of the
expansion and revitalization in this area. Unlike other financial facilities
that infuse the space with
tradition, this locale warranted the forethought of the
future. In keeping with this concept, JRS Architect
designed a banking branch capturing the strength of the
institution and the vitality of the community. The
interior has been "de-constructed" to the framing in order to
illustrate the potential of differing planes interjected
with color and light. The space allows the movement of
the street to act as a background, constantly changing
yet remaining framed within the walls. JRS Architect is
proud of this design, in it’s departure from the average
"bank" and being afforded the opportunity to think
outside of the box in designing this
facility.
 Furniture and Furnishing
Award
Sponsored by Waldner’s Business Environments: North Fork Bank, Flower Hill (Roslyn), N.Y.
This facility was designed
to be a premier location, richly conceived in atmosphere
and material. Ideals of centrality and stability are
represented in the form of the octagon that generates
the floor plan. Building upon a plantation theme, the
space is encircled by fabric with large palm leaves in
lush green tones. The fabric plays off the copper
colored faux tin ceiling and custom mahogany paneling
with woven wood inserts. The space exudes warmth and
comfort like that of a club or retreat. We feel that
such style, in a highly competitive market, is unique in
today’s throw away society and reminiscent of past
decades steeped in growth and stability. We created this
interior design with its elaborate detail and richness
to illustrate the client’s mission to exemplify banking
permanence and shareholders
endurance. | |
