ACE introduces high school students to career opportunities in Architecture, Engineering and Construction Management. Teams of students and mentors from local firms and businesses explore projects from conception to design presentation. Presentations include budgets, program development, site plans, traffic studies and building models.

Ray Maggiore, Design & Office Manager, at JRS Architect, P.C. volunteered his time for two years guiding the students in such design projects as an Amusement Park/Casino and a 5 Star Hotel. Ray reflects "It’s amazing how much of the processes of Architecture, Engineering and Management the students can absorb. With the direction and encouragement of the mentors the students initiate a concept and see it through to it’s fruition". This year Alex Padilla, Project Manager, acted as the JRS mentor. His team presented their solution to "Designing a Mansion". Alex believes the "ACE Program is a great incentive for High School students."

Karen Kellner, Dir. of Marketing & Business Dev. at JRS Architect, P.C. is a board member for the LI Chapter of CoreNet Global. This year the Long Island Chapter will be holding it’s seventh annual charitable golf and tennis outing to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation on July 21st, 2003. Last years outing raised over $140,000. The local Make-A-Wish chapters will grant over 500 wishes in 2003. Karen says working with Make-A-Wish, for the past 5 yrs. has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and she looks forward to this years’ fundraiser.
