Planned as a premier Long Island location, the branch’s themes of bounty and stability are richly expressed through its geometric structures as well as a visual feast of terrazzo, embossed ceilings, woven wood inlays, palm-leaf carpet and bronze accent pieces.

Drawing upon the city’s storied past as the Riviera of the East, JRS designed this branch to reflect the oldest most majestic homes in the area. Red tiled roofing and tapered columns lend a moorish/mediterranean air which is further developed in the bank’s interior.

Rather than the more standard approach of removing existing columns, we decided to adapt them as a design feature of the branch, saving dollars and time. Wrapped with metallic composite enclosures, they accentuate the strength of the building grid and symbolize the stability of the bank.

A progressive healthcare provider for over a century, Winthrop wanted a main entrance to reflect its status as a center for advanced medical technologies. Our design uses high-tech composite materials in contrast to plain brick side structures and introduces a curved arch portal for visual interest and street presence.
