Located on the Upper West Side, this 2 level facility is Mandell’s next evolution as they expand their popular pre-school to a K-8 program. Design creativity with innovative materials creates a unique learning environment that is child friendly and budget sensitive. Wood paneling from sustainable harvests lends a warm glow to the reception area. Conduits and ducts were left exposed to teach students about building systems. Homasote, a recycled wallboard, is perfect for mounting student artwork while providing sound control and is easily painted. Rubber flooring from reprocessed tires is durable and easy to clean. The school includes 6 large classrooms, music, art and reading rooms, a multi-purpose indoor play area, a staff lounge and nurse’s station.
