Charged with designing a branch that would harmonize with local architecture, JRS worked closely with the Village’s Architecture Review Board to deliver a shingle-style building reflecting the early 20th century summer homes famous in the region. The wood frame, wood clad building has natural cedar shake roofing and siding and a foundation of natural stone. Inside, the frame geometry is dramatically revealed in an exposed wood truss and post system. The beauty of wood is also showcased in the circular conference room that fronts a highway and anchors the building at a major intersection. This location has become an important part of the Village landscape and one of the bank’s most active and visible branches.
