Human Resource Coordinator
JRS Architect, P.C. is an award-winning commercial architecture firm with offices in Long Island, New York City and Princeton, NJ. We are currently searching for a part-time Human Resources Coordinator supporting all 3 of our locations and based in our Princeton, NJ office. This position will coordinate day-to-day HR functions and will require 30 hours per week.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of benefits administration, legal compliance, employee relations, recruiting and organization development; to provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation; and to coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries. This candidate must be comfortable working with all levels of team members including senior management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interview job applicants; review applications/resumes; evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicants’ qualifications;
• Design and conduct new employee orientations;
• Coordinate HR efforts between multiple locations and interface with key departments which are remote;
• Possess strong organization skills and is customer focused, team oriented, flexible, able to prioritize accomplishing day-to-day responsibilities and project related tasks;
• Prepare and maintain job descriptions;
• Administer and explain benefits to employees, serve as liaison between employees and insurance carriers; Develop and maintain relationship with vendors;
• Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation;
• Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries;
• Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements;
• Assist in recommending, developing and scheduling training and development courses;
• Support activities that promote firm wide communication and interaction.
KEY SKILLS/TRAINING/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 3 years related HR experience;
• Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or related field or equivalent work experience;
• PHR beneficial;
• Thorough knowledge of Federal, New York and New Jersey employment law;
• Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products and in Outlook
• Ability to travel amongst JRS Office locations
